For Sale: Ed Catmull’s Georgian Colonial in California

by hookedonhouses on June 3, 2012

Ed Catmull, president of the Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, is selling his “true Georgian Colonial estate” in the Del Mesa area of Kentfield, California. Gotta say the exterior didn’t excite me much, but I was pleasantly surprised by the interiors. It’s on the market for $10.9 million–check it out!

The 8,864 square-foot house was originally built in 1935, but was “extensively rebuilt in 2000″ by architect Steve Wisenbaker.

Dr. Ed Catmull pioneered many important developments in computer graphics that we see in movies today. He founded Pixar with Steve Jobs and John Lasseter, a company that changed the look of animated films with movies like Toy Story and Finding Nemo.

The kitchen has zinc slab countertops and state-of-the-art appliances, which include a Charvet Caumartin Range (gorgeous!):

The house has 6 bedrooms and 8 full baths.

“This true Georgian Colonial residence is a majestic, park-like estate with views of Mt. Tamalpais and the Southern Marin Ridgeline,” the listing states.
