When I first came across this old house in the Seattle real estate listings, it didn’t shout Craftsman to me, but according to the listing it’s just that. I do wonder if the second story was added on later or at least expanded. It was built in 1910 and I’d love to see how it looked then, both inside and out.

The blog Decorno mentioned this house, saying it’s “like a Time Machine of 2009, decorated by Domino.” It’s true, although there’s not a kitschy fake animal head mounted anywhere in sight. Craftsman purists will probably cringe because all of the woodwork has been painted white…

The agent’s description of the house:

Stunning corner lot Craftsman that has been beautifully restored. There are large windows throughout that flood the house with light. The main floor has high ceilings, formal dining room and kitchen with darling eating nook that looks out to the tranquil landscaped yard. Upstairs features a spacious and bright master suite with an elegant bathroom with large soaking tub and heated floor.

It’s listed at $664,995.

Love all the woodwork and the fireplace in the dining room. The house must have been a lot darker and more traditional looking before everything was painted white. Would love to see the before photos!

The patterned wallpaper in this dining room didn’t photograph very well–probably looks better in person.

They seem to have made the most of what looks like the original kitchen:

This eating nook is great. Reminds me of the one we had in the house I grew up in:

The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a little over 2,000 square feet.

Do you like the way this old Craftsman has been updated? Could you see it featured in Domino (R.I.P.)? For more photos and information, check the listing by Kristine Losh of Ewing and Clark. (Status is now pending, so look fast before they take it down!)
