Imagine for a moment that you’re a 22-year old pop star dating an 18-year old Kennedy. You’d like to spend more time with him when he’s vacationing at his family home on Cape Cod, so what do you do? Buy the $4.9 million beach house next door, of course!
That’s what Taylor Swift did this month, snatching up a 7 bedroom, 5.5 bath within walking distance of the Kennedy Compound. Take a look:
Taylor is dating Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s son Conor, who will be a high school senior this year. Sadly, his mother Mary committed suicide in May.
The kitchen looks nice and big and bright with all those windows. Is that pink laminate on the countertops?
According to the listing, it’s “Located on a private road with a security guard in the summer months.”
The house was on the market for nearly 4 years. The initial asking price was $14 million, but it had gone down to $4.9 by the time she bought it.
Hard to beat those views of the water.
The house was built in 1928 and has 4,400 square feet.
It sits on a little over an acre of land in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, “perched on a bluff overlooking Nantucket Sound.”
Thanks to Kim for helping me track down the photos and info. More here: Hot Pads, People, Too Fab, and Daily News.
Taylor reportedly took Conor to Nashville to meet her parents Scott and Andrea recently. I wonder what it’s like to have a daughter who’s dating a Kennedy…and who has enough money to buy a beach house next to Ethel’s?
P.S. Remember the historic Nashville estate Taylor Swift bought last year? An anonymous little birdie tells me it was actually a gift for her mother. How sweet!

And then she sold the house, and got $875,000 in profit a few months later. Well played Taylor, well played.
